Formats we can digitise
We can digitise the most common movie film, video & photo formats into very high quality digital files ready for you to watch & share
8mm & Super 8 Film to USB or Hard Drive
We all have those old boxes hidden away somewhere in the garage, the ones with your parents’ or grandparents’ Super 8 or 8mm films. Most of us do not know what to do with them. At Takara Mono, we use high quality Cine capture technology to preserve your irreplaceable films and turn them into Full High-Definition MP4 video files that can be viewed on computers, phones and smart TVs. Our process allows your 8mm films to look their very best, by scanning every reel frame-by-frame, your films will come to life.
By digitising these videos, your special family memories will be preserved for generations to come. The convenient MP4 file format also allows you to further edit & share this videos.
We also convert Super8mm with sound!
Video Tapes (VHS, VHS-C, Hi-8, Video8, Digital8, MiniDV) to USB or Hard Drive
We can convert all of your video tapes to USB, including from VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi-8, Digital 8 and MiniDV. Takara Mono utilise high-quality transfer equipment and we digitise every videotape at or above its original resolution so there is no loss of quality. Most files are rendered out to a convenient mp4 video file by default, unless requested in another format.
As part of our process, we also pay attention to the small details, removing blank, blue or unwatchable scenes in addition to old episodes of TV shows you’d probably prefer to forget.
Bulk Loose Photo Scanning (up to A4) to USB or Hard Drive
We can scan any photograph for you up to A4 in size. For our bulk scanning service, you can choose between scans at 300dpi for easy sharing or 600dpi for archiving enlarging photos using the latest technology. This bulk service is perfect for capturing those shoeboxes full of 6x4 photos. Photos need to be loose (not in an album) to be eligible for this service.
For very special individual images that need to be restored, or require further editing or enlargement, we recommend talking with us about our individual photo scanning/editing service which can provide much higher resolutions, editing and the attention to detail a special one-of-a-kind image requires.
Slides & Negatives to USB or Hard Drive
Takara Mono can offer digital scanning up to 6400 dpi optical resolution with 48-bit colours for your 35mm slides & negatives. Our standard service includes capture at 2400 dpi (in our experience scanning higher than this for mounted 35mm slides rarely provides any further detail), but if you have specific requirements please let us know.
All slides and negatives are individually cleaned and carefully prepared, and then manually scanned to provide the best results possible. Our process helps to remove imperfections (such as dust, dirt & scratches). Our bulk scan process also enables all images to receive basic colour corrections and image enhancements. These high-quality scans produce a sharp and accurate digital image that can easily be printed into larger formats and of course will also be accessible on all your smart devices.
